Endodontics

Endodontics is a field of dentistry that deals with the diseases of the tooth nerve.

The inside of the tooth contains the “dental pulp“, which consists of vessels and nerve fibres.
The pulp extends from the crown of the tooth into the roots and communicates with the surrounding tissue via the root tips.

Disease of the endodont (the inner part of the tooth) is manifested by inflammation or infection of the root canal system that contains the dental pulp. In popular parlance, this is called “a toothache”

This disease can manifest itself as severe toothache and may develop into an abscess. Over time, an endodontic infection can develop into a chronic abscess that drains naturally through the gums.

This condition can be treated with chemical and mechanical treatment of the root canal system, removing the infected and already necrotic tissue and the bacteria within.

With the help of a 3D scan of the tooth to be treated, we can visualise and trace the exact course of canals. Thus, no canal remains untreated and the attempt to preserve your own tooth is optimised.
We offer our patients high-quality treatment using a surgical microscope (up to 40x magnification).

This optical aid makes it possible to find roots and branches that cannot be seen with the naked eye.
All treatments are performed under a rubber dam, so there is a surgical field that isolates the tooth from the oral cavity.
